UCPN(M) General Convention on February 2

DEC 7, KATHMANDU. The Unified CPN (Maoist) has fixed the date and place of the General Convention of the party.

The joint meeting of the UCPN-Maoist party headquarters and Bureau In-charges available in the Kathmandu Valley held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar, has decided to organise the General Convention in Hetauda of Makwanpur district on February 2.

The meeting also fixed the timetable for the different programmes of the General Convention. Earlier, the party had decided to organize the General Convention in Kathmandu from January 24.

Similarly, as per the timetable made public today, the party has decided to conclude all the district level conferences from January 9 to January 23.

Likewise, the UCPN-Maoist has decided to organize special mass meeting on Maoist People’s War Day on February 12, said Haribol Gajurel, senior member of the General Convention Organizing Committee.

The UCPN-Maoist has already concluded village level conferences in most of the places and passed the procedure of the general convention before this as per the preparation of the general convention that was not held for the last 22 years.

The meeting also decided that the current government should in no way resign until the opposition parties were ready to forge consensus on the content of the constitution. RSS
