West Nepal crippled by Bandh

SEPT 13, DANG. Normal life in the western Nepal including Dang has been affected since early morning due to a banda or shutdown called by the 33 political parties including the CPN-Maoist opposing the upcoming Constituent Assembly election.

The 33-party alliance has announced the banda against the second CA election scheduled for November 19. The alliance has warned that it would boycott the election.

According to the District Police Office Dang, no vehicles of both long and short routes have been operated owing to the banda. Main market areas in Tulsipur, Narayanpur, Ghorahi, Lamahi and Bhalubang, factories, industries and academic institutions are closed.

Banda organizers are seen gathered in different parts of the district to make the banda successful.

Meanwhile, normal life in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts remained affected since morning due to the banda. On the eve of banda, the banda supporters took out whistle rallies at Tulsipur, Ghorahi and Lamahi. However, motorcycles, rickshaws and light vehicles are allowed to move without obstructions.

It may be noted that the alliance had organised the banda in the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday, throwing normal life out of gear. RSS
