Ebola Help Desk set-up at Kakadvitta

19 Aug, Kakadvitta (Jhapa) The government has brought a Quarantine Help Desk into operation at Kakadvitta, the main border check-point of the eastern Nepal, to prevent the spread of Ebola Virus Disease into the country.

The desk was set up at the premises of Immigration Office, Jhapa. Kakadvitta shares border with Paschim Bengal and it is close to Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, among other provinces of India.

A team of health workers under the leadership of Assistant Health Worker, Harishchandra Devkota, has been deployed at the Ebola Help Desk from Sunday.

Devkota said that the team would investigate about the tourists visiting Nepal from Ebola-affected countries, provide necessary health counseling and put the suspected people under surveillance.

Chief District Officer of Jhapa, Ekmani Nepal, Superintendnet of Police, Mukundaraj Acharya, Chief at the Immigration Office, Jhapa, Ram Prasad Phunyal, among others were present at a programme organised to inaugurate the Desk. RSS
