5 April, Kathmandu : CPN (UML) Politburo member and Lumbini Zone In-charge Ram Nath Dhakal died in course of treatment at Grande International Hospital, today. He was 52.
UML leader Dhakal was admitted to the hospital a week ago and was diagnosed with Swine flu. Dhakal was undergoing treatment at the hospital though efforts to airlift him to New Delhi, India via an air ambulance could not take place due to unfavorable weather condition on March 29. He was in ventilator since then. Dhakal was pronounced dead by the Hospital at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Body of UML leader Dhakal will be kept at UML Party Headquarters at Balkhu, Kathmandu, after 8:00 am on Monday, said Deputy Chief of the UML Central Publicity Department Surya Thapa.
Late Dhakal was also the Chairman of the State Affairs Committee in the first CA.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. RSS
