Tension has gripped Chandranigahpur Bazaar of Rauhahat after protesters and police clashed today.
The fighting ensued as cadres affiliated to United Democratic Madheshi Front and Tharu Kalyankarini Shabha tried to block an East-West Highway section as part of their anti-government protests.
Police fired 20 rounds in the air, 12 teargas shells and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control, locals said.
