Kathmandu, October 6. Whoever thinks human sacrifice is unimaginable in modern cities like Kathmandu is not totally right, it seems.
Police have arrested two people, including a tantric (esoteric), for their alleged bid to sacrifice a girl by taking her hostage and making her perform a weird ritual.
They arrested tantric Tanu Pahari and Omkar Shah based on the girl’s complaint. Pahari is an Indian national, whereas Shah is the girl’s kin.
The Central Investigation Bureau nabbed Pahari and Shah after the victim lodged a complaint, accusing them of holding her hostage for 18 days, making her perform an odd ritual and trying to sacrifice her. Police said they have initiated legal action against the two.
Shah had made the girl offer puja to a human skull and bone at a rented house in Nagarjun, believing that it would fulfil his wishes.
