Kathmandu, November 24. The UCPN-Maoist has questioned the performance of two ministers representing the party in the KP Oli government.

In its recent meeting, the Maoist standing committee reviewed the performance of its ministers and concluded that Supplies Minister Ganesh Man Pun and Home Minister Shakti Basnet have performed the worst.

The eight-point deal reached with the CPN-UML highlighted the need to solve the Madhesh crisis through political means, Maoist leaders maintained, accusing Home Minister Basnet of striving to resolve the crisis through the use of force.

Supplies Minister Pun under criticism for failing to control black marketing of petroleum products, according to a source. Rather than making the supply system transparent during the fuel crisis resulting from the Indian blockade and controlling black marketing, Minister Pun conceded that the system was corrupt, adding: He should have been able to control the irregularities.

While Supplies Minister Pun drew fire for failing to control black marketing of oil, Home Minister Basnet drew flak for striving to resolve Madhesh crisis by using force

The meeting also criticised most of the ministers representing the party of not sticking to a 23-point code of conduct and not submitting details of their properties. The code disallows ministers from appointing relations as personal and private secretaries and states they should submit progress reports regarding their work every month.

As per the code, Maoist ministers should have submitted property details 10 days into their appointment. So far, only Education Minister Giri Raj Mani Pokhrel has submitted details of his property. While Agriculture Minister Hari Bol Gajurel and Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma have said they have already submitted property details to the government.
