NRNA to world community: End blockade, protect Nepalis’ right to live

Nrn-campaign-3Online Khabar

Kathmandu, November 26. Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association has appealed the international community to safeguard Nepalis’ right to survive, pointing that lakhs of Nepalis have lost means of their livelihood due to the blockade.

The NRNA said this on the third day of its campaign meant to apprise the world community about the humanitarian crisis arising from the (Indian) embargo.

“Due to the blockade, lakhs of daily wage earners are in no position to feed themselves and their families. They have lost their jobs,” NRNA President Shesh Ghale said. The condition of labourers living in the vortex of the movement is turning from bad to worse.

Labourers have lost their job due to non-operation of industries and business houses, Ghale said, expressing worry over the worsening plight of millions of women and children.

Ghale appealed international humanitarian and donor agencies to lend a helping hand in Nepal and help resolve the humanitarian crisis.

Through #NepalHopes, people and organisations can take part in the campaign via twitter – Nepal wishes, let this never happen to you — aimed to inform the world community about the humanitarian crisis resulting from the blockade.
