SSBOnline Khabar

Jhapa, November 29. Nepali authorities have released 13 Seema Sashtra Bal personnel, who had crossed into Kechana, Jhapa district, with weapons in the name of arresting smugglers, barely five hours after arresting them.

ेThe authorities had indicated they will set the Indian personnel free after following due procedures, but they apparently freed them without digging deep into their motive behind the illegal entry.

Damaru Prasad Niraula, assistant Chief District Officer, told Online Khabar that they handed over the personnel to SSB commander BB Negi.

Local people had encircled the 13 personnel after they crossed into Kechana. Subsequently, Armed Police Force personnel had taken them under control.

Locals shouted slogas after coming to know that Nepali authorities were set to free the Indian personnel.

According to Kechana locals, SSB had fired half a dozen rounds in the name of chasing away beetle nut smugglers.
