Kalaiya, December 1. Madhesh has responded to Friday’s protest in Kathmandu where students formed a human chain to point that the Indian blockade and the Madhesh Movement have violated their right to study.

The human chain, first seen along the postal highway in course of the movement, has spread everywhere in the plains, it appears. First, Janakpur saw such a protest. Bara district headquarters Kalaiya witnessed the human chain on Tuesday after Birgunj.

Students taking part in the two-hour protest formed a 11-km human chain spanning from Kalaiya to Birgunj border. They were clad in school uniform and displaying banners that supported the movement and its demands.

The participants were demanding fulfillment of Madhesh’s demands, end to killings in Madhesh, respect for the Madhesh Movement, stressing that it is Madhesh that is imposing the blockade. They shouted slogans, warning (the state) not to inspire them to ‘become human bombs’ and pointing that no one becomes a nationalist merely by scolding India.

At the programme, general secretary of Federal Socialist Forum, Ram Sahaya Yadav, accused the government of trying to make the peaceful Madhesh Movement communal. Despite this, we have been staging a peaceful and disciplined movement.
