21 Jan, Kathmandu. Around 200 doctors at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) have resigned en-masse, expressing solidarity to the demands put forth by Professor Dr Govinda KC.
They tendered resignations before the hospital management this afternoon.
“However, emergency services at the hospital have not been halted. Our resignation is meant for mounting pressure on the government to address Dr KC’s demands,” said Bishworaj Dawadi.
Prof Dr KC is on a fast-unto-death since January 11 with a charter of seven-point demand which includes reforms in the hospital and keeping it free from political intervention, among others.
The Supreme Court on Monday had issued an interim order in the name of hospital directing not to deprive patients of medical services. RSS
