Biratnagar, January 18. Upendra Yadav, president of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, a constituent in the United Democratic Madheshi Front, said on Monday they will not accept anything less than a concrete deal with the government.
Yadav said this while addressing a gathering of party workers in Biratnagar. He said the Madhesh movement will not end without a constitution amendment that incorporates their issues. Indigenous nationalities and Madheshi communities have no faith in ruling parties, he said, stressing the need to amend the constitution.
Number of provinces and province delineation are the core issues, he said, demanding redrawing of provincial boundaries as per the report of the State Restructuring Commission. This is the UDMF’s bottomline, he said.
Yadav said they will encircle Singha Durbar, the government secretariat, if the government does not heed their demands.
The (KP Oli) government has been holding talks merely as a ritual of sorts, he said, warning of a massive uprising if the government does not address their concerns early on.
