SEPT 9, KATHMANDU. The Young Communist League (YCL), close to the UCPN (Maoist), is to launch campaign across the nation focusing the upcoming election to the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Organising a press conference at the Party Headquarters, Parisdanda, today, YCL informed that it was going to launch a month-long ‘Youth campaign for formation of constituency-level organisations, strengthening and expansion.’

On the occasion, Chairman of YCL, Ganeshman Pun, said that his organization would make a special contribution on the CA election as it was necessary and indispensible for the country.

Pun added that they would urge and request people for participation in the election.

Determining that CA election was the best alternative to institutionalize the rights of the people, he added that YCL has made preparations to launch a campaign extensively to mobilize youths and to create election atmosphere.

Pun objected to raising cases occurred during conflict period against the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Accord and the Interim Constitution.

He further said that incidents occurred during the conflict period have been raised one after another, which should only be finalized through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The YCL also demanded complete halt in raising such incidents within a week. RSS
