Kathmandu, October 16. Nepal Food Corporation is selling mountain goats and sheep from its Bagmati Zone food godown in Thapathali from 2 pm on Friday.
The corporation has brought 700 mountain goats from Manang and 500 goats from Hetauda for Dashain, when the demand for meat soars in Nepal.
Shrimani Raj Khanal, spokesperson for NOC, told Online Khabar: “We could not bring enough goats this year due to the Tarai shutdown and undeclared Indian blockade.”
NFC is planning to bring more goats from Hetauda. It has fixed price for goats and mountain goats.
Live goats (upto 25 kg): Rs 435/kg
Live goats (more than 25 kg): Rs 445/kg
Live mountain goats: 630/kg
