Tourism Day marked

SEPT 27, KATHMANDU. Three tourists who came to Nepal this morning were honoured at the Tribhuvan International Airport today on the occasion of the World Tourism Day.

Gifts were also provided to them as they landed at the airport.The honoured tourists are Miriam Mahaer and Mohar Mahaer of Israel and Henrick Nilshon of Sweden.

According to Office Secretary of the Tourism Service Association, Ramsharan Adhikari, idols of Lord Buddha were presented to the tourists.

Before this, a morning rally with cultural procession with banners and placards was organised here today at the joint initiative of different 37 tourism entrepreneurs’ organisations to create public awareness towards tourism.

The rally started from Thamel and concluded at Basantapur after going through Durbar Marg, Ratna Park and New Road.

Various programmes have been organized for a week to observe the 34th World Tourism Day under the slogan “Tourism and Water: Protecting Our Common Future.” RSS
