At the call of United Democratic Madheshi Front, people descended on the road to form a human chain in Biratnagar. The Bijaya Kumar-led Federal Demoratic Forum also took part in the protest.
The UDMF had called people to from a human chain along the 1,155-kilometre-long Postal Road. Chair of FDF’s Morang chapter, Bhakti Majhi, said the party had taken a formal decision to take part in the human chain.
Holding hands, the participants had formed the chain snaking through Sabjimandi, Mahabir Chowk and the postal road section connecting Rangeli and Biratnagar.
The chain spanned from Gauriganja of Jhapa to the Kesaliya River in Biratnagar. After the demonstration, the front organised a corner meeting on the Mahabir Road.
