Minister Thapa snubs CPN-UML youth wing

Kamal Thapa rejects Signature about blockadeOnline Khabar

Kathmandu, November 2. Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa on Monday snubbed cadres of the CPN-UML sister organisation Youth Association Nepal.

As per a schedule agreed earlier, YAN was to hand over signatures collected against the covert Indian blockade to Minister Thapa, according to YAN Vice-president Ramesh Poudel. “But Minister Thapa cancelled the appointment, raising doubts about his intentions,” Poudel said.

Rajiv Pahari, YAN president, said the youth organisation collected five lakh signatures against Indian interference and blockade.

YAN handed over banners containing signatures against the blockade and meddling at to the Foreign Ministry.

Addressing a corner meeting held on the ministry premises after the handover of signatures, Pahari warned Thapa not to play second fiddle to India. “Minister Thapa should not forget that this government has national independence as its basis,” Pahari said.
