DAO, Dang, distributes relief materials to landslide and flood victims of Gangate

19 Aug, Tulasipur. The District Administration Office (DAO), Dang, has today sent relief materials through helicopter and distributed to landslide and flood victims of Gangate of Purandhara. Purandhara is the remote VDC of Dang district.

Chief District Officer, Dinesh Bhattarai, said that a total of 10 quintals of rice, two sacks of lentils, one sack of sugar, bitten rice, noodles, edible oil, utensils, medicines, blankets, among others was distributed to the flood and landslide affected people of different villages of the area.

Bhattarai said Rs 5,000 was distributed to each family, whose houses were swept away by landslide and flood.

A total of three people lost their lives, more than 17 houses were swept away and 30 houses were waterlogged in flood and landslide at the area, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, relief materials were distributed to Babai River victim families of different VDCs in the district including Urahari, Phoolbari and Goltakuri, collected by different organisations including Tulasipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), Lions Club Tulasipur, Rotary Club, Tulasipur, with the coordination of the District Administration Office, Dang.

TCCI President Bimal Rijal said that they distributed the relief materials worth Rs 300,000 including rice, pulse, clothes, utensils, bitten rice, noodles and blankets at the areas.
