8 Jan Hetauda. Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki, has said that corruption would be checked if development project related users’ committees, contractors and hooligans were not given political protection.
Inaugurating the Central Zonal Regional Office of the CIAA at Hetauda today, Karki suggested that local administration and police should carry out regular monitoring of the development projects directly concerned with local people and issues of public interest.
He also said that a team deputed by CIAA has started investigations into the non-existent schools in eight districts.
The Chief Commissioner said that action would be taken against those if they are found involved in irregularities in different development projects run by the private and government sector.
On the occasion, Central Regional Chief of CIAA, Bishwonath Dhakal said that teams have been assigned to carry out investigation into different irregularities in 16 districts of the region.He said out of around 1,000 complaints filed at the office, 70 have been cleared. RSS
