October 18, Kathmandu. Rastriya Janamorcha is in the mood to join Prime Minister KP Oli’s Cabinet. It is also prepared to nominate its leader Chitra Bahadur KC, known for his strong anti-federalism stance, as minister, but the catch is: KC should get a ‘respectable’ portfolio in the Cabinet.
The party, which has always been reluctant to join the government, is learnt to be preparing to nominate its second-in-command Durga Paudel, if the ruling coalition does not give the party the ‘respectable’ portfolio it is demanding. A meeting of the Jana Morcha’s mother party CPN (Mashal) is learnt to have taken the decision on Saturday.
It is however not known what portfolio in particular does the party want. KC, who is considered even senior to CPN-UML leader Jhala Nath Khanal, is expected to demand that he be made Deputy Prime Minister.
