Kathmandu, December 17. The House is going to start discussion on the constitution amendment bill tomorrow, despite opposition from Madheshi parties.

Speaker Onsari Gharti, who has talked to chief whips of major political parties about the bill, will soon take it up with top leaders of the parties.

Gharti said the amendment process will not be suspended even if some lawmakers protest. She said it would be better if all political parties reach a consensus on the bill.

The Madheshi parties have said the bill, prepared by then Sushil Koirala government, is not acceptable for them, and that it does not address their key demand: revision of provincial boundaries.
