The Nepali Congress has called a meeting of the party’s central committee on Wednesday to decide whether the party should lay claim on the post of prime minister.
The party’s chief secretary Rishikesh Tiwari said party President Sushil Koirala has called the CWC meeting on Wednesday at Baluwatar.
The NC is divided over whether the party should stake claim for the PM’s post or let the CPN-UML get the top post as per an earlier understanding. Apart from Koirala, party leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel are staking claim for the top job.
