5 Feb. Kathmandu : The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal obstructed today’s constituent assembly (CA) meeting saying that their issues were not addressed.
Party chair Kamal Thapa said they were compelled to obstruct the CA meeting as the recently-formed Questionnaire Committee did not prepare the questionnaire on secularism, monarchy and federalism.
He further said that they would accept the verdict of the people on the issues if it was taken to the people, but parties were neglecting their demands against the democratic norms.
While speaking in the CA session before obstructing it, he further urged the major parties to prepare questions on the issues as they should be finalized through people’s mandate.
CA chair Subas Nembang said that the issues raised by RPP Nepal were serious but there was no time to enter into them.
The next CA meeting has been scheduled for February 12. RSS
