Kathmandu, October 9. Lawmakers from United Democratic Madhesi Front took part in Friday’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament. They had been boycotting the Parliament after promulgation of the constitution.

Speaking at the meeting, Ashok Rai, lawmaker from Federal Socialist Forum, said the government should come clean on whether or not India has imposed a blockade against Nepal.

Rai urged the government to make it clear whether India has enforced a blockade or not. “Some ministers are saying it’s not a blockade. Who do we believe?”

Rai said the government cannot deal with foreigners by suppressing a movement of its own people.

“Only after strengthening internal unity can we press foreigners to follow international law,” he said.

At the meeting, RPP lawmaker Dipak Bohora demanded action against ministers who are saying that it’s not a blockade.

“Why does not the prime minister take action against those ministers, who are denying it’s a blockade, even when the blockade has seriously affected people?
