Kathmandu, October 11. Speaker Subas Nembang today approved resignation that lawmaker Baburam Bhatarai had tendered. The approval came hours before voting in the House for the selection of a new prime minister.
The former prime minister had quit the UCPN-Maoist and resigned as lawmaker 19 days ago. Nembang had not approved Bhattarai’s resignation on Maoist Chair Prachanda’s prodding.
