NIC OFFICE-BEARERS SWORN IN

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Commissioner Krishna Hari Baskota at a ceremony at the PM’s official residence at Baluwatar.

After taking oath from the Prime Minister, Chief Commisisoner Baskota administered the oath of office and secrecy to Commissioners Kiran Kumar Pokharel and Yasoda Devi Timilsina.

Present at the oath-taking ceremony were the Speaker Subas Nembang, CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli, Minister for Information and Communications Minendra Rijal, Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav, Minister for Law Narahari Acahrya, Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya, Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudyal, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications Sunil Bahadur Malla, Joint Secretary Kabiraj Khanal and president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Mahendra Bista, among others.

Chief Commissioner Baskota has served as the secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance and other bodies before this. He is also the Coordinator of the Administration Reform Implementation and Monitoring Committee.

Commissioners Pokharel and Timilsina have long experience working in the media sector.

Pokharel, who is the former central president of Nepal Press Union, is the News Section chief at the Annapurna Post national daily. He has also worked as the news editor at the Himalaya Times and coordinator of the Ghatana ra Bichar and Paribesh radio magazines at Radio Nepal.

Timilsina is the former Vice-president of the FNJ and currently working at Nepal Weekly magazine. RSS
