Bijaya Gachhadar to join Oli government as Deputy PM

Kathmandu, October 12. Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum (Democratic) has called a meeting of the party at 11 AM on Mondayfor selecting ministers that will represent the party in the KP Oli government.

Party leader Ram Janam Chaudhary shared this information with Online Khabar.

MJF (D) Chair Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar will take part in the Oli administration as deputy prime minister. Tharu and Madheshi ministers will accompany him. The party had left the Constituent Assembly when it was about to promulgate a federal constitution. Shortly before voting for the prime minister began in the Parliament, the party had signed an eight-point agreement with the CPN-UML and the UCPN-Maoist, making way for its participation in the new government.

According to a source, there’s a high possibility of Madheshi leader Jitendra Dev and Tharu leader Ram Janam Chaudhary becoming ministers. Chaudhary is a Tharu Movement leader. Gachhadar thinks inducting Chaudhary as a minister will make it easier for him to run the party.

A leader confirmed that Gachhadar plans to induct Jitendra Dev from the Madheshi community into the new administration.

Gachhadar may choose Physical Planning or Defence portfolio. The party is yet to choose ministries for Dev and Chaudhary.
