Suffering from low blood pressure or hypotension? You must be cautious if you feel dizziness, faint often, have a blurred vision and find it difficult to breathe. A healthy body has blood pressure of 120/80. If your blood pressure goes below 90/60, you should realise you are at risk.
Low blood pressure affects your brain, heart and kidneys and it can ultimately be life-threatening.
Decrease in blood pressure may be due to different reasons. You should consult physician if you have low blood pressure. You can also increase your blood pressure to healthy level by taking the following steps.
- Increase the intake of salty food a bit, keeping in mind that excessive salt is harmful for your body. Sodium helps increase blood pressure.
- Drinking coffee is another way to give your blood pressure a boost. Chocolate and other stuffs that have caffeine also helps increase blood pressure. Don’t forget to drink coffee in the morning and in the evening if you have low blood pressure.
- Mix juice extracted from 10-15 basil leaves with a spoonful of honey. Take it every morning. Your blood pressure will increase.
- Raisin also helps increase your blood pressure. Soak raisin in water in the evening and munch on this fruit the next morning. Filter the water and take it, too. This will help increase blood pressure.
- Cut ginger into pieces, pour salt and lemon juice. Mix it all thoroughly. Keep the mixture in an airtight container. Take a few pieces of ginger every day before meal. Your blood pressure will reach a healthy level.
- Regular intake of fruits like pomegranate, apple, banana and watermelon also helps you keep your blood pressure at a healthy level.
