Bardiya, January 6. An eight-year-old, Sujal BK, died of burns while he was huddling around fire to beat the chill, in Basgadhi municipality-7, Bardiya district, on Tuesday.In the same incident, three children — Bikas BK (11), Sanjaya Raji (11) and Radha Krishna Tharu (14) have sustained burns.
The three are under treatment at Bheri zonal hospital. According to Dr Abhishek Shrestha, more than 25 per cent of Bikas’ body has suffered burns. Sanjaya and Radha Krishna’s bodies have suffered more than 30 per cent and nine per cent burns. They had gone missing from their houses at 5.30 pm.
The three had set a campfire 500 metres away from the house. Despite frantic searches for the three, family members managed to find them only at midnight and rushed them to the hospital, the deceased’s grandfather, Chhabi Lal BK, said.
