Kathmandu, October 25. Here’s a good news for Nepal’s football fans.
Ace footballer and former English football team captain, David Beckham, is visiting Nepal as part of his seven-day, seven-continent tour in which he will play several matches.
According to the London-based Sunday Times, apart from Nepal, Beckham will play in Papua New Guinea, Buines Aires, Djibouti, Miami, and Antarctica. He will play the last match of the tour at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, where he spent 11 years.
“I’ve seen the transformational effect that sport and, in particular, football has on people’s lives. This epic journey will allow me to show the positive side of the game I love,” Beckham told the paper.
A team will accompany the ace footballer during his world trip, filming his matches for a 90-minute documentary for BBC1 and BBC Worldwide.
It’s unclear when the Beckham tour will begin. Indra Man Tuladhar, chief executive officer of All Nepal Football Association, said they don’t have any knowledge about the whole affair.
