Kathmandu, December 27. While United Democratic Madheshi Front cadres were shouting slogans against Saturday’s Biratnagar incident, in which Sadbhavana Party President Rajendra Mahato sustained injuries, Prem Suwal, lawmaker from the Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party, raised the incident in a different way.

Prem-SuwalWhile UDMF lawmakers demanded that the government apologise for what they call police excesses against Mahato, Suwal said: On Saturday, a group coming from Jogbani, India, attacked Nepali police personnel. Is this an incident of Indian attack against Nepal ?

After attacking police, protesters, including Mahato, returned to Jogbani, he said quoting a news report. Citing reports, he said the plan for the attack against police personnel was prepared in Jogbani itself.

Indians with forged Nepali certificates have obstructed supplies from Indian territories, Suwal said, demanding that the government tell the Parliamant about the incident and take action against the guilty.

By imposing a blockade and creating upheavals in the Tarai-Madhesh, India wants to press for constitution amendment, he said.

Suwal criticised both the government and the main opposition Nepali Congress.

The government and the main opposition should say whether they want to secure Nepal’s sovereign right to transit ?

Lendup Dorje kept mum when India annexed Sikkim, Suwal noted, asking whether our leaders also aspire to become the one like Sikkim’s last prime minister.
